To be fair, BC08, the whole bushislord.com thing was basically a tiny point amongst a whole lot of other evidence. I'm not saying I necessarily believe everything that Stephen says, but I do believe he comes from a place of actually wanting to find out the truth.
I don't agree with some of the ways that Stephen Hanchett or PeterZ administrate their messages as I feel they get quite judgemental in their own right and tend to do the same thing to conservatives that you do to liberals (ridicule and call them names, namely. Though at least you haven't started banning people that you don't agree with).
I consider my self a liberal, but I highly doubt that Bush is the Antichrist. That Rush Limbaugh site gave me some laughs. Oh, and word to the wise: Don't display your age. I never would have guessed you were that young without all those low lifes pointing it out to discredit you.

I do have to give you some credit BC08, as many have pointed out you are extremely passionate about politics for a 15 year old, which is definately a good sign. What I would like to encourage is not that you stop posting or stop having an opinion, just try to open yourself up to the fact that you don't know everything, nor does anyone else. Wisdom can come in many forms and truth is had by republicans, democrats and those with no particular political affiliation (like myself).
Always make it your goal to dig deeper into the WHOLE truth because only then will you be able to form a well-rounded and objective opinion about anything. Simply having the mindset that "Republicans are mostly right and democrats are mostly wrong" is naive and I think you are capable of doing better than that.

The fact that anyone is betting on the identity of the anti-christ is proof of the devil's ability to distract us from what he is really doing.
We should be putting our focus on knowing GOD better. God will reveal the truth about such things when it is time for you to know, as long as you are digging deeper into know him. By "betting" on different individuals you are basically passing judgement upon them that is not for you to do.

Howdy BC08, just thought I'd drop you a line to say that I am proud of you. Not many 15 year olds care to educate themselves enough to make informed decisions or opinions on anything, let alone politics. If you have started out this young, I'm sure that you will go a long ways. Just don't EVER let the liberal attack machine get you down. Throughout your education, you are going to be bombarded with liberal dogma and propaganda. Resist it, use your common sense to sort out the BS from the stuff worth keeping. A long time ago, I made the mistake of becoming fed up with it and dropping out of school (although I did get my GED). Keep your head up out there. Great blog!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't read books about failed wimps that run for president. It makes my blood boil. I'm not crazy for the guy, or the sponsors/authors of that book for that matter. I prefer to look forward. We have a lovely Senate race coming up in 2006.

There is a big difference in "sounding stupid" and "being stupid". BC08 never said he was being disrespectful to his parents. He said they "sounded stupid" He never said he called his parents "stupid".

It is a VERY different thing to disagree with someone than it is to insult them. There is no way that you can get out of this one - you have been harbouring hurtful thoughts and feelings towards your parents that are not right and are directly in violation of one of God's commands to honour our parents.
There is no difference between saying "You are stupid" and "You sound stupid". It is a simple matter of symantecs and either way is an insult. You can either admit you were wrong and learn something from the experience, or you can continue trying to justify yourself and learn nothing. No one is 100% right all of the time and that includes you.

Sure you can love and dislike someone, but the way you talk about all of these issues demonstrates a real lack of knowledge and basic intelligence.
The real underlying problem that I see here is that BC08 is standing on a soapbox and preaching a worldview that he clearly believes is based on Biblical teaching, while at the same time doing everything he can to insult and break down those he deems are against him.
Biblical teaching is not meant to be used in this way - God's word was given to us out of love, for the purpose of lovingly instructing, guiding and teaching, and more than anything else to reveal God to his people.
BC08 doesn't seem to understand this most basic truth because he apparently never has time to actually seek God for himself - he is content either to believe everything that comes from the mouths of the religious right, or put all of his faith in things he learns "at church".
What is "church" anyway? It isn't a building or an institution, nor a pastor, nor a diocese nor an organization. It isn't a denomination and it isn't a system or a program. The Bible defines "the church" as the body of christ - the believers. It is human nature that attempt to box this up in brick and mortor and pat sunday sermons, but God is alive and his word is alive. You can't experience that or have any hope of knowing the truth and power of God's revelation unless you seek it out and know it for yourself.
I write a lot about this subject on my blog (also a lot of really great words from other people's blogs in my links) that I would encourage you to take a look at. Not to suggest that I have all the answers - God never intended for us to have all of the answers, that was a lie that Satan told us way way back in the garden.
Truth and revelation are not things that can be contained wholly in books and church buildings, but are things to be discovered and explored through conversation and relationship.

I don't see how saying a person sounds stupid is disrespectful. You are not saying that the person is stupid. Stupidity in and of itself is not a bad thing. It is the same as ignorance. I am stupid and ignorant of a lot of subjects! All I have to do is read up on that subject.
Anyway...he wants us to move on...so lets do just that.
Keep in mind that there is a difference between judging a person and judging what a person does or says. I'm not intending to judge BC08's heart as that is something that only God can do, but I can, in fact I am called to judge his actions. As the Bible says, I can "judge the fruit, not the tree."
Biblically it is also the duty of the church of Christ not to judge the world but to judge the church. As someone who claims to be a part of that body, BC08 is under that authority as well. We are called, in love, to correct other members of the body when we feel that something is amiss.
BC08 has fallen into a trap that a broad majority of Christian people make, that being to assume that "churchy" things that other people say are in fact based in reality and in truth, when they are not. There are a lot of Bible-esque ideas and sayings out there that have either been taking completely out of their proper context or are just completely false, and unless one has the desire to learn how to seperate what is true from what is not, instead of simply regurgitating things we hear at church or on "religious" TV shows or by some abitrary politcal entity, we have no ability to speak truth to others.
In short, BC08 has an accountability both to God and to the rest of church (not the institution, but the people - the believers) to faithfully represent God's word and the teachings of Jesus regardless of whose worldview they seem to agree with. From what I have seen I don't believe BC08 is doing that.
The Bible tells us also that once we have been through something we then have authority to speak into others lives about it. I have been through my legalistic, self-righteous, religious phase and come out the other side a wiser person for it. Because of that I recognize a lot of the places that BC08 is coming from and I am speaking to that in the hopes that God will continue to teach the both of us.

Well actually if they knew I was a republican I know theyed probaly disown me or something.
If that is true then I find that very sad, and this perhaps explains a little bit of why you are so adamant about having your voice heard. Your parents should love you and hear you regardless of differences in opinion and if they are not doing so then I am sorry, that really sucks.
I want you to know that I do support you as a brother in Christ, though I don't necessarily agree with a lot of your views. If you truly wish to know God better and to seek the truth then I know you will do just that - God promises that.
And remember as well, even though your earthly parents may not be giving you the support that you need as their son, your eternal parent in heaven will never stifle you and will always listen no matter how much he disagrees.

And maybe discussion about his relationship with his parents is "off-topic" so to speak, but if it can serve to help some of those wounds to heal and build the guy up in positive ways, then what could be better?
